It all began in 1988 with the founding of Industrias Metálicas del Norte. At first, the work focused on creating seeders and cultivators; however, the challenges of the agricultural sector sowed the seed of a more ambitious vision: the manufacturing of heavy-duty trailers.
The following years marked decisive milestones of growth and corporate consolidation. In 2003, through the strategic union of Industrias Agrícolas Dyck, Industrias Agrícolas Olfert, and Remolques y Maquinaria El Gordo, the operational structure known today as Grupo Remolques del Norte was formally established. By 2007, with the launch of the GR Trailers brand, the Group extended its reach into the United States and Canada, consolidating an international distribution network and positioning regional manufacturing as a benchmark for quality and compliance with global standards.
The expansion continued with key acquisitions that strengthened its presence in the metal-mechanical market: in 2009, the integration of Banens Trailers was finalized, and in 2019, the technological capacity of Wiebe Trailers was added.
In 2022, the organization took a fundamental step toward diversification by establishing strategic alliances with global giants like Solis Yanmar and Lonking, driving technological and commercial growth toward heavy machinery. This commitment to the primary sector was reaffirmed in 2024 with the founding of GRN Agroindustrial, a division dedicated to advanced solutions for modern agribusiness. That same year, the alliance with HSG Laser and the registration of HSG Laser Mexico positioned the organization at the forefront of laser cutting technology and high-precision manufacturing processes.
With a legacy of excellence since 1988, the company stands on a single heritage and an unyielding strength driven by the union of three cultures moving the world: Mennonites, Mestizos, and Raramuris.
